What is Mazda i-ACTIVSENSE?
Mazda's commitment to driver and passenger safety brings its new generation i-ACTIVSENSE safety system to vehicles, helping drivers avoid collisions and, in the worst-case scenario, reduce the severity of injuries to all occupants.
What Is Mazda i-ACTIVSENSE Technology?
Mazda i-ACTIVSENSE technology is Mazda's latest driver assistance suite. It employs technology such as cameras, radar, and collision mitigation features, all working together to enhance driver awareness and decrease the likelihood and impact of a collision.
The system automatically monitors the vehicle's immediate surroundings, such as nighttime lighting and proximity to other vehicles, assisting the driver in recognizing road hazards, avoiding potential collisions, and reducing the severity of accidents if unavoidable.
Key Features of Mazda i-ACTIVSENSE
The Mazda i-ACTIVSENSE safety suite consists of numerous new-generation active safety technologies.
Advanced Smart City Brake Support
This brake system detects road hazards at low speeds and prepares the vehicle for stopping by adjusting the brake pads closer to the brake disc. If the driver takes no action, the system automatically applies the brakes.
Adaptive Cruise Control
The Adaptive Cruise Control, also known as Mazda Radar Cruise Control, takes the stress out of traveling on congested roads with frequent traffic slowdowns.
The i-ACTIVSENSE safety suite monitors the speed of vehicles ahead and automatically adjusts cruise control settings to maintain a safe following distance.
Lane Departure Warning System
The Lane Departure Warning System uses onboard sensors to read lane markings on the road and, in conjunction with onboard software, predicts when the vehicle is about to unintentionally leave its lane. The system alerts the driver with an audible alarm.
Blind Spot Monitoring
Mazda's Blind Spot Monitoring System uses radar sensors located inside both the left and right sides of the rear bumper. The sensors detect objects in the left or right blind spots and alert the driver with a warning light located in the appropriate side mirror.
Blind Spot Monitoring activates when the vehicle speed is around 20 mph or greater to avoid unnecessary alerts in parking lots or for stationary objects.
Rear Cross Traffic Alert
This invaluable safety feature helps avoid collisions when backing out of parking spots into busy areas.
The i-ACTIVSENSE system automatically switches to the Rear Cross Traffic Alert function when the transmission is shifted to reverse. It detects vehicles approaching from the side and promptly alerts the driver with audible beeps.
